Day 24 in Chengdu - Presentation Part 1 and Dumpling making!!

So day 24 rolls around and we are about 3/4 way into our trip! Soon to be going home. We woke up bright and early to do some last minute editing to our presentation slides, as well as rehearse our slides once more. Went for lunch before heading out to the teaching block for our 'last lesson' for TCM, but little did we know it will not be the last.....

The presentations began with both Sera's and Zi Ai's group presenting on their individual topics, which deepened my insight in the various topics of TCM. However, due to time constrain, Felicia's group and my group could not present, therefore we were scheduled to present the following day. Class concluded and we headed out to the canteen to begin our dumpling making session! I was very excited about this as I simply LOVE cooking :D. Anyway, the volunteers made dumplings with us, together with more chatting and understanding of each other's culture. It was fun and enriching. We made dumplings of all shapes and sizes, ranging to curry puff shaped ones to even a few that looked like the italian ravioli!! We are really super creative. After we finished making the dumplings, they were sent to be cooked. Their cooking method is something that is different from ours. In Singapore, normally we either steam or fry our dumplings, but they simply just put the dumplings in a pot with water and boil it. Due to our inexperience, the dumplings started to fall apart as soon as it began cooking, but we had a whole lot of fun making them.

After the dumpling making session, I headed over to my volunteer's dorm to get him to help with our purchase    of items from the online shopping site, Taobao.com. It was something like our EBay, but slightly more efficient and better, with no need to bid for the items. I am really grateful for his help. So this more or less concludes my day. Now onto the pictures!!
