Life in Chengdu, China........: Day 20 in Chengdu - A trip to the city.... ON OUR OWN!!!

SUNDAY!! NO CLASSES TODAY!!! My whole class decided to head out to the city for some shopping and relaxation time. Sooo.... woke up bright and early to catch the 8.30am school shuttle to the old campus which is located within the city, and then headed out from there to the city center. Was guided around the city by a volunteer from the textile college (Xu Jie), and we were SUPER grateful for his help, cause if not for him we will SURELY get lost in the city. We went to 2 different malls, and bought some stuff.... I did not buy much, except for a new headpiece, and also some local snacks. Walked around for a little while more, before deciding we wanted to watch a movie. However, due to time constrain and also the movie timing screwed up, we did not catch a movie, but headed to a subway station to see how the MRT is like in Chengdu.

The place was very pretty, and grand. However, we did not see the interior of the subway station, but just the exterior, and took a few pictures. We had to take public transport back to our campus, as the last inter-school shuttle ended at 5pm... We had to change 2 different buses, and after the SUPER bumpy ride we arrived at Xi Pu Town... BUT THE LAST PUBLIC BUS BACK TO THE CAMPUS ENDED!!!! So we had no choice to take private taxis back to the campus...

The driver was friendly enough to take us back to the campus for a mere 15 Yuan, and we arrived back safely!! Although my friend, kidman's cab went for a tour AROUND Chengdu, he still arrived back safely to the campus, which was a huge relieve for all of us. So this more or less sums up our day in the city..
